Voice Calling 80+ Restaurants Across 5 Cities with OpenClaw and Twilio
Dave Lee spent 24 hours setting up OpenClaw with iMessage, web browser, and automated voice calling via Twilio and OpenAI's realtime voice API. Then he had it call 80+ restaurants across 5 cities asking about MSG and real bone broth. He also set up monitors scanning Elon Musk's tweets for Tesla-relevant posts.
Twilio + OpenAI Voice API: Automated Restaurant Survey and Tweet Monitoring
The voice calling setup uses two key integrations:
- Twilio: Provides the phone number and calling infrastructure
- OpenAI Realtime Voice API: Powers the actual voice conversation
- OpenClaw orchestration: Manages the call list, tracks responses, and logs results
For the restaurant survey, the agent called 80+ Korean and Pho restaurants across 5 cities, asking specific questions about whether they use MSG and if their broth is made from real bones. Each response was logged and categorized.
The tweet monitoring setup scans Elon's feed continuously and flags Tesla-relevant posts for review.
80+ Restaurant Calls Completed Plus Automated Elon Musk Tweet Monitoring
- 80+ restaurant calls across 5 cities completed
- Automated tweet monitoring operational
- Full iMessage and browser integration in 24 hours
