Multi-model OpenClaw research assistant for university physics coursework
A physics student built a local multi-model OpenClaw assistant on a Mac Studio M3 Ultra (96GB) for university coursework and research. Everything runs locally.
What the Assistant Does
- Paper analysis: reads physics papers, extracts equations, identifies citations
- Coursework RAG: course materials indexed and searchable
- Coding: computational physics, data analysis, simulations
- Bilingual: Korean-English translation for research in both languages
How They Built It
Mac Studio M3 Ultra with 96GB RAM runs large local models alongside OpenClaw. Different models for different tasks: heavier for research, lighter for translations. No data sent to cloud. Posted on r/LocalLLaMA.
Results: Private research assistant on local hardware. Multi-model, bilingual, fully offline.
